Encounter
You have two hours to find and rescue a kidnapped girl. Explore the town and her captors’ mansion, collect objects and solve puzzles: every choice matters in this illustrated adventure.
From the Oric to the Spectrum
A Sinclair ZX Spectrum 128K conversion of Encounter HD for the Oric, with English text and commands, an animated introduction, an 8×2 multicolour loading screen and AY sound. All five disk versions use multiload: keep the disk mounted throughout the game.
Loading
DSK: Spectrum +3, disk in drive A:; select Loader and press Enter.
MGT: Spectrum 128K with +D / DISCiPLE, disk in drive 1; enter 128 BASIC and type RUN. The +D and DISCiPLE system files are included.
OPD: Spectrum 128K with Opus Discovery, disk in drive 1; 128 BASIC → RUN.
TRD: Spectrum 128K with Beta Disk / TR-DOS, disk in drive A; enter 128 BASIC and type RANDOMIZE USR 15619:REM:RUN.
KDI: experimental version for Spectrum 128K with Kempston Disc and KDOS 128A6. In X128 DOS 0.95d select Spectrum 128 and KDOS128_A6, then mount the disk in drive A. The AUTO program starts the game.
In your emulator, enable the matching disk interface and select a double-sided, 80-track drive. Keep the machine in 128K mode. The DSK requires this capacity and is not a standard 180 KB +3 disk.
The KDI requires the 128A6 interface and ROM: it is not compatible with the standard MAME Kempston 48K configuration. Startup and transitions between phases have been checked in X128; a complete KDI playthrough has not yet been tested. See the ZIP’s README for setup and test coverage.
