Start

A SAM Coupé with 512 KB, or SimCoupe configured with 512 KB, is required. Insert Alter_Ego_SAM.mgt in drive 1 and boot with F9. SPACE skips the introduction; press SPACE again at the title to play.

Controls

O/P: left/right. Q/A: ladders. SPACE: exchange. R: restart the level, costing one life. Allow each animation to finish between actions.

Test coverage

Verified in SimCoupe: loading with original artwork, editable BASIC loader with BREAK/LIST/edit/RUN, movement, ladders, exchanges, all three first-room objects, entry into room two, and R restart with loss of a life and return to play.

Music and effects are adapted to the SAA1099 chip: timbre, noise and some very short effects differ from the Spectrum original.
